| Wiley's Flies is owned and operated by world renown fly tier and author, Vince Wilcox. What began as an online store in 2003 out in Loveland, CO has grown into the best stocked fly shop in the Adirondacks in Ray Brook, NY.
Wiley's Flies has over 25,000 flies to choose from and gear from Simms, Korkers, St. Croix, Redington, Rio, Waterworks Lamson, Umpqua, Montana Fly Company, Renzetti, Peak, Stone Creek, Darn Tough, Guideline, Hareline and Wapsi. We also have the largest fly tying material, tools and vise selection in the Adirondacks.
Anglers come from around the region for our selection and knowledge. From Saratoga, Montreal, Ontario, Malone, Plattsburgh, Potsdam, Canton, Massena, Lake Placid, Wilmington, Jay, Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, Lake Placid and Tupper Lake.
Vince has written for American Angler, Eastern Flyfishing, Fly Fisherman, Southwest Flyfishing, NY Outdoors and was a contributing writer at Fly Tyer Magazine. In additional to magazines, Vince has published two books "Vince Wilcox's Guide to Tying Nymphs and Dry Flies" and his most recent "Vince Wilcox's Naturally Artificial Signature Flies". He is also a professional macro-photographer and sketch artist specializing in photographing and sketching flies. In addition to the writing he signed as a Signature Tier for Idylwilde Flies in 2003 and in 2013 signed with Umpqua Feather Merchants. Vince continues to strive toward creating new flies that are effective and durable as well as some of the most creative in the industry. As a production fly tier he has tied hundreds of thousands of flies and when he’s not busy writing, running his bar, outfitter business, and tying flies, he has hosted trips in Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana and North Carolina and primarily on his northern Adirondack streams.
