Ever wanted to try ice fishing? We do that too! This is a great way to spend a few hours outdoors during the winter months when you are visiting the Adirondacks. Our trips start as (2) Introdution into the sport. We will set up a portable shanty with heat and show you how to drill the holes, set up tip ups and jig for fish using a vexlor (fish finder) for locating the fish. When setting a tip up on the ice it strattles the hole and has a reel in the water attached to a spring loaded flag, which "pops" when a fish takes the bait so be sure to keep your eyes peeled! Obviously you will be fishing during winter months when conditions allow, your safety is our priority and you can be assured our licensed guides will take care of you and your family. You should dress warm, layers can always be taken off. Water proof boots would be most prefered as there are many days when there is an inch or two of water on the ice and around the holes. Hats, gloves, sunglasses are all for your comfort so make sure to bring them. We provide everything else. Should you want to stay out longer we can accomodate your needs with an additional hourly charge. See all of our trip rates on the rate page for more info.
